An internal Oracle organization chart shows the executives left reporting to cofounder Larry Ellison after cloud and health leader Don Johnson left the company.

Johnson — the former Oracle Cloud Infrastructure boss once named by the founder and chief technology officer, Larry Ellison, as a potential contender for co-CEO — recently left his latest role running the engineering department for Oracle Health, Insider previously reported.

It was unclear at the time whether Johnson was leaving the company altogether or if it was just the latest in a series of shifting roles for the executive, but he no longer appears in the company's internal directory, according to a screenshot viewed by Insider.

Johnson spent four years running Oracle's cloud business, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, before stepping back in the last year. He later returned in a critical role after Oracle bought the health IT company Cerner for $28 billion in 2022.

Meanwhile, Oracle Advertising just laid off another round of employees this month, and the unit's chief product officer, Derek Wise, is leaving, according to internal emails viewed by Insider. Oracle Advertising falls under Ellison's direct report Edward Screven.

Oracle's top executives are split under Ellison and CEO Safra Catz. Ellison now has eight direct reports in charge of about 50,000 employees who run the technical and cloud side of Oracle's business, so it doesn't include Catz, who is generally considered to run the finance, sales, and marketing sides of the business.

Oracle did not respond to a request for comment.
