7 high-paying jobs for people who love music

If you love music, but can't sing or play an instrument for your life, don't fret: There are other lucrative career options for you out there.

We combed through the Occupational Information Network (O*NET), a US Department of Labor database that compiles detailed information on hundreds of jobs, to find positions with a median annual salary of over $50,000 that require knowledge of the theory and techniques needed to compose, produce, and perform works of music, dance, visual arts, drama, and sculpture.

Each job is assigned a "fine arts importance level" between 1 and 100.

Here are the jobs that earned a "fine arts importance" score above 40 with a median pay over $50,000 a year:

7. Sound engineering technicians

Median salary: $53,330

Fine arts importance level: 66

Sound engineering technicians operate machines and equipment to record, synchronize, mix, or reproduce music, voices, or sound effects in sporting arenas, theater productions, recording studios, or movie and video productions.
